RUSH VALLEY, UT - Jeff Milford was the first person to order a
GOODE PowerVest and took delivery last week at the GOODE Factory
in Ogden, UT. What happened to Jeff's skiing this past weekend is
an amazing story!
Jeff is a Men's 3 skier. Three years ago he had a
microdiscectomy in his lower back. His personal best, prior to
back surgery, was 1 buoy @ 39-1/2'. Jeff took delivery of a new
9900 WIDE RIDE and PowerVest last Wednesday and entered two
tournaments this past weekend. Jeff not only set a new personal
best by 2- 1/2 buoys, he shattered the 34mph lake record by one
buoy!
"I have had to "baby" my back following surgery.", said Jeff
Milford. "When Dave Goode showed me the PowerVest at the GOODE
Utah State Championships just prior to Nationals, I knew that I
needed it. When I watched Dave run 2 buoys @ 39-1/2 off at the
State Meet using the PowerVest I could see how it could help me. I
wanted to make sure that I was the first person to order.", Jeff
continues. "I skied 14 sets since Wednesday. I never could have
done that without the PowerVest. Combine that with my new 9900
WIDE RIDE, it is a powerful combination.", Jeff concludes.
GOODE is now taking orders for the GOODE PowerVest and 9900
WIDE RIDE.
AUSTIN, TX - Dr. Mike Morgan (Odessa, FL) won the third qualifying
event of the 2008 Ski Nautique Big Dawg Slalom Series on Sunday at
The Aquaplex in Austin, Texas. Mike is fresh off of his victory in
the Men's 4 division at the 2008 GOODE Water Ski National
Championships.
Mike Morgan beat the Canadian National Champion, Dave Miller
(CAN), in the head-to head finals. Chad Scott (Covington, LA)
finished 3rd place.
"It was a very competitve event!", said Dave Goode. "There were
so many 39-1/2' offs run this weekend. I am really happy to see
GOODE Skis and the 9900 working so well.", Goode continues. "We
have worked hard to make the best skiing skis in the world and I
am pleased to see the 1-2-3 sweep this weekend", Goode concludes.
GOODE announced the new 9900 SL Series skis two weeks ago at
the 2008 GOODE Water Ski National Championships. The 9900 SL
features all new Carbon Fiber and a refined flex torsion ratio
making it the best ski GOODE has ever produced.
GOODE Skis is proud to be a sponsor of the WORLD SENIOR TROPHY
September 8-14, 2008 in Sesena, Spain, just south of Madrid.
The Spanish Water Ski Federation has the pleasure to invite all
IWSF Water Ski Federations to the back-to- back WORLD SENIOR
TROPHY and EAME SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS to be held at Seseña´s
Training Center.
"Dawn and I are excited to be a sponsor of this great event.",
said Dave Goode. "Our water skis are very popular in Europe and it
will be great to meet many of our customers face-to-face.",
explains Goode. "I am very excited to have been invited to ski in
the event, too! I will be competiting against skiers like Andy
Mapple, Kris LaPoint, Dave Miller, Dr. Mike Morgan and many other
great skiers in the Senior 2 division. We will all be skiing at 55
kph (34 mph)."

MIDDLESEX, UK - Defending champion, Nick Parsons (Bountiful, UT),
finished 5th place at the 2008 Princes Pro-Am. Will Asher (GBR)
won the event and Chris Parrish (FL) finished second.
This was the 12th running of Princes Pro-Am. The competition is
a three day, three round, professional slalom waterski event
differentiated from others by the inclusion of amateur skiers in a
team format. Competitors are organized into teams, each of which
is randomly allocated a professional skier. Scoring is calculated
on a handicap basis, thus allowing teams with differing skier
abilities an equal opportunity to win.
The participation of the amateur skiers heightens the
enthusiasm for the event while providing a good contrast to the
extremely high level of skiing demonstrated by the professional
skiers competing.
CORRECTION: In our last E-News we reported that Nick Parsons
beat Chris Parrish to win the 2008 GOODE Water Ski National
Championships Men's Open Division by running 2-1/2 buoys at 39-1/2
off'. It should have read that Nick ran 2-1/2 buoys at 41' off.
