I flew to Sacramento, CA last weekend to participate in the first
qualifying event of the 2008 Ski Nautique Big Dawg Slalom Series. It
was a great experience competing against the best 34 mph skiers in the
world!
Many skiers seemed to be struggling with ZeroOff, the new GPS based
speed control system, as scores were mostly down in the qualifying
rounds. However, I do believe, that as skiers practice more with
ZeroOff that it will become a great system. It just takes a little
time to get comfortable with the pull.
ELK GROVE, CA - Greg Badal (USA) won the first qualifying stop of
the 2008 Ski Nautique Big Dawg Slalom Series on Sunday, June 15th.
Dave Miller (CAN) (pictured to the left) finished 2nd in the
exciting head-to-head finals.
"I just love the Big Dawg format!", said Dave Miller. "I want
to thank Correct Craft and Shortline Lake for hosting such a great
event", Miller continues. "My GOODE 9800SL and PowerShell boots
were working great this weekend."
"This was my second ever Big Dawg tournament and it reminded me
of the intensity in which the top skiers ski!", said Dave Goode.
"The top four skiers had to ski 7 tournament rounds to get on the
podium!", Goode continues. "To place in a Big Dawg event, you not
only need to ski well, you need to be in top physical condition,
too.", Goode concludes.
OGDEN, UTAH - Last week, amidst a big celebration, the Mayor of
Ogden, Utah renamed the 21st Street Pond to "GOODE Ski
Lake".
"All of us are overwhelmed with the realization of the vision
of the lake.", said Mayor Matthew Godfrey. "It will be a
tremendous introduction to people as the gateway to Ogden.
GOODE Ski Lake fits well with our City's efforts to become an
outdoor recreation mecca."
"We are planning to expand the newly named GOODE Ski Lake
into a World-Class water ski venue located in Downtown Ogden,
Utah.", said Dave Goode. "Ogden is in a great location and
certainly is a city on the move. Dawn and I are honored to have
the lake named after our company."
GOODE sponsored skier, Nick Parsons, practices on
GOODE Ski Lake. Nick is currently ranked #6 on the World
