Dawn and I just returned home from attending the MASTERS Water Ski
Tournament, in Pine Mountain, GA. I hope you were able to catch some
of the excitement either in person or on the live webcast!
Each year, the level of talent and competition continues to
increase. Watching GOODE Skiers, Regina Jaquess and April
Coble-Eller, battle for the MASTERS title was certainly a highlight of
the weekend!
REGINA JAQUESS 1ST, APRIL COBLE-ELLER 2ND AT MASTERS
Regina Jaquess (USA) won her first career Masters' title yesterday
by winning Women's slalom in a close battle with 2nd place April
Coble-Eller (USA). Both skiers scored 3 buoys @ 38' off on the
rough and rolly waters of Robin Lake. Regina won the high pressure
runoff with April by running 4 buoys @ 38' off.
"I am so happy!", said Regina Jaquess. "This is my first
victory ever at the Masters!", Jaquess continues. "I want to thank
Correct Craft for hosting such a great event. I also want to
thank, my coach, Cory Pikos, all of my sponsors and Dave Goode for
making the best possible water skis!"
"Regina is an amazing competitor!", said Dave Goode. "I really
enjoyed watching her dig deep mentally and rise to win the Masters
slalom event!", Goode continues. "Regina has the ability to get it
done when it counts!", Goode concludes.
Regina rode her GOODE 9800SL and April used her GOODE
Maika'i 9800SL in the Masters. Both skis are constructed the same
and simply feature different top and bottom graphics.
40% of the Masters skiers, rode GOODE Skis. To compete in
the Masters, you must qualify in the top of the World Elite
ranking list.
World Champion, Thomas Degasperi, and US National Champion,
Nick Parsons, were the 2 (out of 10) men skiers that rode GOODE
Skis at the 49th Masters Water Ski Tournament.
Regina Jaquess, April Coble-Eller, Karina Nowlan, Clementne
Lucine, Michelle Simpson and Kristi Overton-Johnson were the 6
(out of 10) women skiers who also chose GOODE Skis.
"It was great to see Kristi come out of retirement to compete
here this weekend!", said Dave Goode. "Kristi is still the Women's
World Record holder and that earned her a spot at the Masters.",
continues Goode. "Kristi did not have a lot of time to prepare for
this event. She began training this spring with the same GOODE
9100 that she set the World Record on in 1997! Just last week,
Kristi switched to a more current GOODE model. Kristi
really looked good skiing all of the way into 38' off."

Aliaksei Zharnasek (BEL) finished second in the Masters Men's
Trick Finals with a score of 10,520 points. Jimmy Siemers (USA)
