Skiers could get automatic placement into the Big DAWG Finals based on making the “Sweet-Sixteen” at one of the two qualifying events. The skiers that made the finals this way were; Thierry Malhomme, Scott Greenwood, Chad Scott, Harold Hintringer, Jay Leach, Todd Johnson, Ben Favret, Bruce Dodd, Greg Badal, Mike Baldwin, Jeff Danos, Scot Jones, Chet Raley, Mike Dehlinger, Marc Shaw, Scott Tynan, Kyle Tate, Steve Ware, Kim Contos, Darren Janzig, Jay Leach and Kreg Korinek.
The remaining field of skiers was selected as follows: the first 50 percent based on best single score, and the second 50 percent based on best cumulative scores at any of the two qualifiers. SEE FINALS SKIERS HERE.
The preliminary rounds for the series championship will be on Thursday, August 13 on the North-South Slalom Lake. The 8-skier head-to-head finals will be held under the lights on Friday, August 14. The final 8 head-to-head can be seen via a live Webcast.
About 50% of the Big DAWG Finalsists will be using GOODE Skis; more than any other brand of water skis. David Miller (CAN) had the highest score in the qualifying events of 4 buoys @ 41′ off and uses a GOODE 9900SL and PowerShell 5 Boots.
