Regina sets pending overall world record at Pan Ams

Team GOODE skier Regina Jaquess sure is keeping the International Waterski & Wakeboard Federation’s Technical Committee busy with new world records to approve.

Just three weeks after setting a Women’s slalom world record of 2 buoys at 41 feet off on her GOODE NANO-”twist”, Regina scored 3,033.01 points at the Pan American Games in Chapala, Mexico, to win a gold medal in Women’s overall and set a pending Women’s world record. Regina also took gold in slalom (3 buoys at 39-1/2 feet off) and jumping (166 feet), and a bronze in tricks (6,090 points).

During her record-setting overall event round, Regina scored 1-1/2 buoys at 41 feet off in slalom, jumped 173 feet (both Pan Am records) and tricked 8,200 points to beat her own world record of 2,945.85 points set in June 2010. Since she set the record last summer, Regina’s score has been topped by the still-to-be approved records of Whitney McClintock, Natallia Berdnikava and Clementine Lucine.  However, if her new mark is approved by the IWSF, it will exceed them all.

“With two pending world records in less than a month, Regina has absolutely been on fire lately,” said Dave Goode, founder and president of GOODE Skis. “It’s even more impressive that she did it while representing her country at one of the biggest tournaments of the year.  I can’t wait to see what she does in 2012.”

Regina won four of the seven medals earned by U.S. athletes and led the Pan Am water ski competition with three golds. Other event winners were Javier Julio (Men’s tricks and overall), Jonathan Travers (Men’s slalom), Freddy Krueger (Men’s jumping), Andrew Adkison (wakeboarding), and McClintock (Women’s slalom).

Jerome Bocuse Comments on the GOODE WIDE RIDE

Here are some comments from Jerome Bocuse on the GOODE 9900SL WIDE RIDE…

A few years back when I reduced speed from 36 MPH to 34MPH my buoy count went slightly up but my skiing was not as enjoyable.

It was always more or less a stop and go with the ski stalling at the buoy as the rope got shorter.

Today skiing on the 9900SL WIDE RIDE is an amazing feeling, the buoy count is up and the pleasure of skiing is back again.

The ski is very predictable on both sides, carving the water, turning on a dime without losing any momentum.

With a background as a snow ski racer and watching the ski evolution on the snow, I truly believe that the new 9900SL Wide Ride is the future!

Dave and Dawn Goode spent a couple days with Jerome snow skiing in Courchevel, France this past month. Jerome is a very accomplished snow and water skier. Jerome has a very precise feeling on skis. Jerome has competed in several BIG DAWG events and ran 1@41′ off in the 2007 BIG DAWG Finals.
