Jeff Rodgers wins Big Dawg Finals, 7 of Elite 8 on GOODEs

Former Men’s Slalom World Champion Jeff Rodgers won the Big Dawg World Tour Finals Sunday at Lake Jepawhit in Gaines, Mich., holding off seven GOODE skiers who all advanced to the Elite 8.

Rodgers topped Todd Johnson in the final round to earn the win, while Dave Miller (3rd) edged Mark Menasci (4th) in the consolation bracket. Additional GOODE skiers who qualified for the Elite 8 were Jeremy Newby-Ricci, Ben Favret, Chad Scott, and Greg Badal. GOODE skiers also claimed 12 of the Sweet 16 spots.

Heading into the Big Dawg Finals a GOODE skier had won each stop on the tour this year as Miller won at both Okeeheelee and Cedar Ridge, Greg Sund won in Sesena, Spain, and Badal won at Laku Landing.

Dave Miller wins second consecutive Big Dawg tour stop

Dave Miller defeated a stacked field of competitors yesterday at Cedar Ridge Lake in Canton, Mississippi, to win his second-consecutive Nautique Big Dawg World Tour event.

Dave, who won the Mexico stop in April, ran the 39-1/2 feet off pass all six times during the weekend. In the final round, he scored 4 buoys at 41-feet off, the tournament’s highest single score, to beat Harald Hintringer (0.5 buoys at 39-1/2 feet off).

Ten of the Sweet 16 skiers were on GOODE, as were four of the Elite 8 (Chet Raley, Todd Johnson and Tim Huston) and two of the Final Four. In that round, Dave (1.5 buoys at 41-feet off) edged Chet (1 buoy at 41-feet off) to advance to the finals. Click here for the Sweet 16 bracket results and here for the preliminaries.

While his skiing was exceptional, perhaps the most amazing part of Dave’s weekend was the ski he did it on. On Thursday, Dave designed his own custom graphics for a new Nano OneXT using the GOODE Online Designer Tool. The ski was built and shipped to him on Friday. He mounted it up and won with it a mere three days after ordering it.
