Regina claims fifth straight Swiss Pro Slalom title

It took her two tie breaks in the final round but Regina took care of business, topping the field at Sunday’s Swiss Pro Slalom to win the event for the fifth-consecutive year.

Regina scored 2 buoys at 41-feet off in the second and final tiebreak to win the title and top second-place finisher Whitney McClintock-Rini. Regina’s final tiebreak score was the highest female slalom score of the event and only the second full pass at 39-1/2 off on the day (she scored the other one in the second round).

The Men’s field was missing Team GOODE skier Thomas Degasperi who was involved in a traffic accident the night before. Thomas reported on social media that he was “good … just feel like Tyson came back to the ring and had a go at me.”

Will Asher took first with 4 at 41 off, while Freddie Winter and Sacha Descuns took second and third with 3.25 and 2.5 at 41 off, respectively.

GOODE’s Dane Mechler had a great showing, placing fifth while running into 41 off all three rounds, and Adam Sedlmajer advanced to the finals to finish 7th.

Regina goes for 5 straight at this weekend’s Swiss Pro Slalom

The early-season pro tournament schedule continues this weekend as the Swiss Waterski Resort hosts the Swiss Pro Slalom Sunday in Clermont, Fla.

Regina Jaquess will be attempting to accomplish something that even she hasn’t done before; win a pro event for the fifth-straight year. Last year she topped a stacked field by nearly a full pass while running 39-1/2 off all three rounds. She was the only Women’s competitor to do it even once.

On the Men’s side, Thomas Degasperi will be looking to continue his hot start to the 2019 season, coming off a win at the Moomba Masters and a second-place finish at the Travers Grand Prix. Thomas tied Freddie Winter in the final round, but was edged by Freddie in a run off for the title.

Other Team GOODE skiers expected to compete this weekend are Dane Mechler, Adam Sedlmajer, Alice Bagnoli and Taylor Garcia.

The event begins Sunday at 8am eastern with a live online broadcast. For more info, including running orders and schedule, visit swissproslalom.com.

Regina wins fourth-consecutive Swiss Pro Slalom title

Make it four for four. Regina Jaquess has competed in the Swiss Pro Slalom four times, and after Sunday’s victory, has come away with four titles.

Regina scored 2 buoys at 41 feet off in the final round to earn the win, nearly a full pass above second-place finishers (tied) Manon Costard and Whitney McClintock, who each scored 3 at 39-1/2 off.

Regina, riding the GOODE XTR, was the only Women’s competitor to run 39 off, and she did it in all three rounds.

In Men’s slalom, Nate Smith, Will Asher and Sacha Descuns went 1-2-3, while Team GOODE’s Adam Sedlmajer and Dane Mechler both qualified for the finals, finishing 6th and 7th, respectively.

Regina rides the Rev 6 to the Swiss Pro Slalom Title

Regina Jaquess and her new Rev 6 took home the Women’s slalom title at Sunday’ Swiss Pro Slalom at the Swiss Waterski Resort in Claremont, Fla., kicking off her 2016 season in style and extending her pro event winning streak to 23-plus months.

In Men’s slalom Team GOODE’s Benny Stadlbaur had his best ever U.S. pro event finish, placing fifth.  Teammate Martin Bartalsky earned a spot in the finals, finishing tied for 8th. Nate Smith earned the win, while Freddie Winter and Adam Sedlmajer finished 2nd and 3rd, respectively.

Swiss Pro Slalom to kick off U.S. pro season

The first U.S. pro event of the season takes place Sunday, marking the 2016 debut of several Team GOODE skiers.

On the Men’s side Daniel Odvarko, Martin Bartalsky, Carlo Allais, and Benajmin Stadlbaur will be kicking off their 2016 pro seasons.  Thomas Degasperi, who placed third at Moomba, will skip the event to rest his back.
