GOODE skiers claim multiple titles at California Pro Am

It was a really GOODE weekend at the California Pro Am as Regina Jaquess won the event for the 7th consecutive time, and GOODE skiers swept the top four in Masters Men and went 1-2 in the amateur division.

Regina made it seven in a row by taking down fellow Team GOODE skier Karen Truelove in the head-to-head semi finals, then topping Whitney McClintock by a full pass (2@41 vs. 2@39) in the finals. Karen landed on the podium with a fourth-place finish.

In Masters Men, Steve Grubbs led a GOODE sweep of the tour-four spots as Mark Menasci, Kevin Bishop and Darrell Smith finished 2-3-4.

In the amateur event, Donna Yamasaki and Murray Dyson rode their GOODEs to first- and second-place finishes, respectively.

Brian Detrick was the top Team GOODE skier in Open Men, finishing fourth. Dane Mechler and Adam Sedlmajer also advanced to the finals.

Team GOODE bags three wins at California Pro Am

The pro tournament season ended with a bang for Team GOODE as it took home three titles and a runner-up finish at last weekend’s California Pro Am at Bell Aqua Lake 2.

Regina Jaquess scored 2 buoys at 41 off to beat Manon Costard (5.5 at 39) in the final round to win her sixth career California Pro Am Women’s slalom title. Fellow GOODE skier Karen Truelove made the eight-skier finals and finished 7th.

In Men’s slalom, Thomas Degasperi rang up multiple scores into 41 – including tying for the highest score of the weekend at 3 at 41 – before finishing second behind winner Will Asher. Adam Sedlmajer continued his recent streak of good showings by making the finals and placing 6th.

In the Masters Men event, seven of the final eight skiers were all on GOODEs as Greg Badal took home the win by defeating Mark Menasci in the final round. Chad Scott finished third and Steve Schroeder fourth.

And finally, the handicapped amateur division was won by Ken Ferrante, who took home the win just a couple weeks after jumping on the new RéVolution.  GOODE skier Bob Hardeman set a pending Mens 8 national record of 3 at 38 off.

The name and even the location of the tournament may have changed, but one thing has remained the same over the last five years at the California Pro-Am: Regina Jaquess taking the Women’s slalom crown.

Regina (took her fifth-straight California Pro-Am (previously known as the Diablo Shores Pro-Am) title Saturday, beating second-place finisher Whitney McClintock by a quarter buoy (4-1/4@39 to 4@39) to secure the win. The win adds to Regina’s professional winning streak of 28 months, as her last loss came at the 2014 Masters. Five has been a big number for Regina this year; she also won her fifth-straight Malibu Open title earlier this summer.

Regina was joined in the finals by her fellow GOODE teammates Karen Truelove (4th), Breanne Dodd (5th), and Kate Adriaensen (6th).

In Men’s slalom, Team GOODE’s Daniel Odvarko landed on the podium with a third-place finish, while Brian Detrick (6th), Thomas Degasperi (7th) and Carlo Allais (8th) also advanced to the finals.
