Dave Miller outlasted runner-up Greg Badal to win the first stop of the 2018 Big Dawg World Tour and Greg Sund finished fourth as GOODE XTRs occupied three of the top four positions. Jeff Rodgers finished 3rd.
Dave beat Jodi Fisher, top-seed Harald Hintringer and Greg Sund to advance to the finals, while Greg Badal had to get past Jason Seels, Fred Halt and Jeff to reach the final pairing.
After waiting out a rain storm, Dave edged Greg by one buoy with a score of 3 buoys at 39-1/2 feet off to earn the victory.
The weekend was a successful one for GOODE skiers, as they made up nine of the Sweet 16, 5 of the Elite 8 and three of the Final Four. Additional GOODE skiers advancing to the Sweet 16 were Bruce Dodd, Mark Menasci, Chet Raley, Tim Huston, and Chad Scott.
Chad Scott topped Dave Miller in the head-to-head finals and six of the Elite 8 rode GOODEs as the first stop in the 2015 Nautique Big Dawg World Tour concluded today at Ski Paradise in Acapulco, Mexico.
Chad scored 5 at 39-1/2 off to Dave’s 3.5 at the same rope length to earn the win. Fellow GOODE skiers Bruce Dodd finished third, Marc Shaw fourth, Greg Badal sixth, and Todd Ristorcelli seventh.
The United States’ Lori Krueger and Canada’s Dave Miller won gold medals in Women’s and Men’s over 45 slalom, respectively, as GOODE skiers racked up the medals today at the 2014 Pan Am Championships in Bogota, Colombia.
Lori swept the Women’s over 45 competition, also taking gold in tricks and jumping in addition to her slalom medal, while Dave scored 5 at 39-1/2 off for the win, posting the highest slalom score in the tournament so far in the process. His fellow Canadian and Team GOODE member Bruce Dodd took the bronze.
In the Junior ranks the United States’ Kristen Baldwin earned a silver medal in under 13 Girls slalom after being edged out of gold by Colombia’s Luisa Jaramillo in two tiebreakers. Kristen also took second in tricks and first in jumping. Her sister, Brooke, finished fifth in under 17 Girls slalom, sixth in tricks and fourth in jumping, an especially impressive accomplishment considering this is the 13-year old’s first year in the under 17 age group.
The United States’ Nick Lang dominated under 17 Boys with a silver in slalom and gold medals in tricks and jumping.
The competition continues Thursday with preliminary rounds in under 21 and Open Men’s and Women’s slalom. Among the GOODE skiers competing will be Javier Julio, Carlos Lamadrid, Caroline Hensley, Regina Jaquess, Adam Pickos, and Erika Lang.
Dave Miller rode his GOODE Nano OneXT to victory at the Big Dawg Mexico stop yesterday in Guadalajara, Mexico, beating fellow Team GOODE member Chad Scott in the finals to win his second Big Dawg victory in less than a year.
In the Final Four round, Dave topped Andy Mapple and Chad took out Greg Badal to reach the finals. Other GOODE skiers advancing to the Sweet 16 included Alberto Soares, Dave Goode, Jose Saad, Francisco Angel, and Bruce Dodd.
This weekend’s event in Mexico was the first Big Dawg stop since last season’s finals, in which GOODE skier Jeremy Newby-Ricci took the title and the top-four finishers were all on GOODEs.
A large contingent of Team GOODE skiers are expected to participate in the tournament, including Alberto Soares, Dave Miller, Dave Goode, Chad Scott, Jose Saad, Francisco Angel, and Bruce Dodd.

The Mexico stop is the first event of the five-tournament series. The tour culminates with the Big Dawg Championships, held Aug. 14-15, in conjunction with the GOODE Water Ski National Championships in San Marcos, Texas. At last year’s Big Dawg Finals, the top-four spots were won by GOODE skiers.
