Regina Jaquess was named the 2017 USA Water Ski Female Athlete of the Year, marking the 10th time in her career she has received the award.
The U.S. Elite Water Ski Team – whose members include GOODE athletes Brooke Baldwin, Taylor Garcia, Anna Gay, Adam Pickos, and Jaquess – was named USA Water Ski’s Team of the Year.
USA Water Ski on Regina’s selection:
Jaquess, selected USA Water Ski’s Female Athlete of the Year for the 10th time in her career, led the way for the U.S. Elite Water Ski Team as it won the team gold medal at the 35th Water Ski World Championships. Jaquess successfully defended her slalom and overall titles from the 2015 world championships, earned the silver medal in women’s jumping, and advanced to the finals in all three events (placing 10th in tricks) at this year’s world championships. She also won women’s professional slalom titles at the Swiss Pro Am, San Gervasio Pro Am and Malibu Open, where she also won the coveted overall title and placed second in jumping.
Friend of GOODE Freddy Krueger was named the male athlete of the year for the 12th time. Click here for more information.
GOODE skiers Regina Jaquess, Erika Lang and Adam Pickos will represent the United States at this year’s Water Ski World Championships.
The three skiers were selected to the U.S. Elite Water Ski Team – along with teammates Scot Ellis, Alex Lauretano and Nate Smith – based on the results of this weekend’s U. S. Team Trials held at Shortline Lakes in Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.
GOODE skiers Brooke Baldwin, Nick Lang, Lauren Morgan, and Chris Parrish were selected as alternates, as was Taylor Garcia.

Team GOODE had a great showing at the 2014 NCWSA Nationals as Dane Mecheler won the Men’s national collegiate slalom title with a huge score of 2 buoys at 41 off, while Freddie Winter took third and Adam Pickos tied for fifth.
On the Women’s side, Eloise Whitlock finished tied for third while Lauren Morgan took fifth.
The United States’ Lori Krueger and Canada’s Dave Miller won gold medals in Women’s and Men’s over 45 slalom, respectively, as GOODE skiers racked up the medals today at the 2014 Pan Am Championships in Bogota, Colombia.
Lori swept the Women’s over 45 competition, also taking gold in tricks and jumping in addition to her slalom medal, while Dave scored 5 at 39-1/2 off for the win, posting the highest slalom score in the tournament so far in the process. His fellow Canadian and Team GOODE member Bruce Dodd took the bronze.
In the Junior ranks the United States’ Kristen Baldwin earned a silver medal in under 13 Girls slalom after being edged out of gold by Colombia’s Luisa Jaramillo in two tiebreakers. Kristen also took second in tricks and first in jumping. Her sister, Brooke, finished fifth in under 17 Girls slalom, sixth in tricks and fourth in jumping, an especially impressive accomplishment considering this is the 13-year old’s first year in the under 17 age group.
The United States’ Nick Lang dominated under 17 Boys with a silver in slalom and gold medals in tricks and jumping.
The competition continues Thursday with preliminary rounds in under 21 and Open Men’s and Women’s slalom. Among the GOODE skiers competing will be Javier Julio, Carlos Lamadrid, Caroline Hensley, Regina Jaquess, Adam Pickos, and Erika Lang.
