Dane Mechler wins second international competition of the season

Dane Mechler and his GOODE ski continue to rack up victories on the international level.  Dane scored 3 buoys at 38-feet off at last weekend’s 5th Can Am Challenge at Lake of Dreams in Jerseyville, Ill., to win the gold medal in Under 17 Boys slalom.

It’s the second big victory of the season for the Loveland, Ohio, resident, after having also won the Boys slalom title at the 12th Junior U.S. Open Water Ski Championships in June.

In the Under 13 competition, Quinn Haines of Avon, Conn., rode his GOODE FIRE to the gold medal in Boys slalom with a score of 2 buoys at 32-feet off.  Quinn’s victory came just a couple weeks after taking the Boys 2 overall title at the 70th GOODE Water Ski National Championships.

The Can Am Challenge was a two-day, world-record capability event featuring team competitions between Canada and the United States. A six-member Under 17 Team and a six-member Under 13 Team represented each country.
