One weekend left in the first round of the GOODE Virtual Water Ski Bracket ChallengeTM and things are starting to shake out a bit:
- No. 1 seed Todd Ristorcelli put some distance between him and 8 seed Jay Leach by bumping his score to 3 at 41 off, up from the 2 at 41 off that had him tied with Jay last week.
- Chet Raley also added a buoy to his score, running 2 at 41 at the Okeeheelee July Slalom Event. Kyle Tate has four rounds to catch pass Chet though, one at the Southern Regionals and three at Victory Lake’s Last Chance event in Jacksonville on July 31.
- Ben Favret, who probably drew the toughest match up in the first round, is still staring down Regina Jaquess’ pending Women’s slalom world record of 3-1/2 at 41.
- Chad Scott and Dave Miller are both still tied at 2-1/2 at 41, something Chad will probably be looking to remedy during this weekend’s upcoming South Central Regional Championships.
Round 1′s bracket selection contest closed for entries on July 12th, but everyone will have another chance to enter and win when Round 2 begins in August.
