The Goode Family – New Midseason Series on ABC – Preview

The Goode Family is a new animated series from Mike Judge (King of the Hill, Beavis and Butt-head, Office Space), John Altschuler & Dave Krinsky (King of the Hill, Blades of Glory) that premieres Wednesday, May 27th 9/8c on ABC.

With standards always changing, no matter how hard you try to be good, it’s virtually impossible these days . . . especially for the Goode family.

Meet Gerald and Helen Goode, a couple who live by the motto WWAGD (“What Would Al Gore Do?”). Gerald, a college administrator, and Helen, a community activist, are determined to obliterate their carbon footprint on the planet: They’re zealous vegans, they drive a hybrid, and they recycle everything possible. Even the family dog, Che, is vegan. In the words of Helen, all the Goodes want to do is buy organic apples and call minorities by their right names. But despite their best efforts, something always goes haywire with their politically correct plans.

Like adopted son Ubuntu – Gerald and Helen thought they were doing the right thing by adopting a baby from Africa, only to learn that Ubuntu was South African . . . and white. Now a teenager, he eagerly tries to embrace the Goodes’ love of things like crafts and organic gardening, even though deep in his gene pool is a drive towards more blue collar pursuits like driving fast, using tools and violent sports. Teenage daughter Bliss is constantly mortified by her parents (especially her mom’s efforts to talk openly, girlfriend-to-girlfriend, about sex). Even Che is rebelling against his owners – he’s secretly depopulating the neighborhood of every stray squirrel, cat, rabbit and bird in search of a square meal.

Their kids and dog aren’t the only ones who find the Goodes hard to understand. Helen’s SUV-driving, meat eating dad, Charlie, thinks her efforts to save the planet are just a waste of time. Neighbor Ray Johnson is bemused at the Goodes’ attempts to refer to him by the right ethnic catch phrase (“African American”? “Person of Color”?) and the constant drama unfolding right next door.

The Goode Family is voiced by Mike Judge as Gerald, Nancy Carell as Helen, Dave Herman as Ubuntu, Linda Cardellini as Bliss and Brian Doyle Murray as Charlie. John Altschuler, Mike Judge, Dave Krinsky, Michael Rotenberg and Tom Lassally are executive producers of the series, which is produced by MRC and 3 Arts Entertainment.

The Goode Family show is in no way connected to GOODE Ski Technologies. The names are
just the same. Enjoy the show!

Juan Carlos Cuglievan Wins Latin American Championships

Juan Carlos Cuglievan (Perú) won the Latin American Water Ski Championships which were held recently in Apóstoles, Argentina. The tournament was very well organized by the Argentinean federation and the lake conditions were very good. There were 70 skiers from 7 Latin American countries (Argentina, Chile, Perú, Colombia, Brazil, México and the Dominican Republic).

“This is great news!”, said Dave Goode. “I first met Juan Carlos last fall at the 2008 Senior World Championships in Seseña, Spain.”, Goode continues. “Dave Miller introduced us and we proceeded to set Juan Carlos up on a GOODE 9900SL with PowerShell 5 boots. Juan Carlos adapted very quickly to his new equipment as is evident by his recent victory!”, Goode concludes.

Juan Carlos ran 38′off in the preliminary round and received the top seed for the finals. In the final round, the two best scores were 2@38′off and Juan Carlos decided to “play-it-safe” and aimed for 3 ball and ran 3@38′off to win.

Thomas Degasperi Comments on his WIDE RIDE

Thomas is seen in this photo setting up his WIDE RIDE. He commented, “See how many GOODE’s are in Florida!”.

Thomas skis with a 66″ GOODE 9900SL WIDE RIDE, right foot forward, and a PowerShell 5 boot system. Thomas is the reigning World Champion and has skied on GOODE Skis for the past 8 years. Thomas is originally from Trento, Italy and is currently living and training in Orlando, FL and will be competing at the Masters later this month.

The new GOODE 9900 SL WIDE RIDE has been designed to give stability in the turn and at same time is a super fast ski. The wide top part of the ski allows any skier to feel comfortable on their on and off-side. The ski has a incredible stability and improved my off-side a good 30%, which is a lot. As soon I rode the GOODE WIDE RIDE I knew that was going to be a tremendous tool that will conquer the market.

Ski Areas Rate GOODE Rental Ski Poles #1

The Ski Area Rentals and Accessories Buying Program (SARA-BP) uses three test ski area rental shops to try to get a feel for how the submitted products hold up in regular rental usage.

As their members know, rental usage is very different from consumer product usage and rental equipment needs to be durable, easy to rent, easy for new users to understand , and perform well. This was a subjective test and the comments from the rental managers are shown below.

Each of the three rental shops participating in the test program are identified with a *  or  +  or  #  to differentiate their remarks.

 Here are the comments:

GOODE Ski Poles

*These poles are very durable and lightweight for rental use. It is nice to see a pole that can withstand the use of a high volume rental department, but not look or feel like a bulky aluminum pole. These poles went out at least once a day and on big rental days twice, overall I give these poles an A.

+ GOODE Poles  [A] + [T]   Perfect poles. For 6 years No problems with over 1000 pr of poles.  A couple of broken baskets and we had extras to replace them with.

 # We have been using these poles for several seasons they are durable and lightweight.  This is the only pole we rent.

GOODE Ski Poles are made of high strength composite materials and are lightweight and durable. GOODE Ski Technologies is located in Ogden, UT.
